INTERNATIONAL &
D of E RESIDENTIAL TRIP 2025
As the home of adventure and international friendship, KISC captures the true spirit of camp camaraderie in the rural heart of Switzerland. A sweeping scene of snow-capped mountains and rolling white pastures, KISC becomes a magical wonderland in winter. Wrap up and rev up for cross country skiing, igloo building, sledging and winter survival experiences, then warm up under the stars at the International Campfire where budding new friendships await.
The adventure will begin on Friday 14th February 2025 when we travel by coach to Switzerland. Arrival at Kandersteg International Scout Centre will be on Saturday afternoon, 15th February, for a weeks adventure, departing on 22nd February for the journey home. The Kanderlodge, with twin en suite bedroom facilities, communal living areas and full board catering facilities will provide our accommodation for the week. The winter activity programme will run throughout the week for Explorer Scouts but there will also be opportunities to rest and enjoy the fantastic local scenery and of course the snow. Members are encouraged to organise fund raising activities to cover the cost of this trip and where possible we will advertise to all members attending events organised. We will also try and arrange some social gatherings and ski lessons before the trip departs.
The Explorer Scout programme will include 3 days skiing, lessons where required or Scout Centre Guide, ski hire, ski passes, sledging day, snow hike, torch lit night walk, igloo building, international campfire and a number of other international activities organised by the Scout Centre. Where appropriate this trip qualifies as a D of E Gold Residential & King’s Scout Residential activity for Explorer Scouts & Network members. The all inclusive cost for Explorer Scouts will be £1350.
Youth members who are currently Scouts with a date of birth before 14th July 2011 are welcome to apply. They will however need to be registered with an Explorer Unit at the time of travel. Payments will be spread out over a number of months giving families time to save and also Explorers time to fund raise. The first payment of £270 will secure a place. There will then be 8 more payments of £135 spread over a number of months.
The adult member price is £1430 to cover transport, accommodation, catering and insurance. It does not include ski tuition, ski passes or ski hire and additional activities. However the Scout chalet can arrange these items for anyone requiring them at an additional discounted cost. Additional family members are also able to attend. For further information about this please get in touch.
To reserve a place and receive a registration form and further information about payments and bank transfer details please email Jake on the email below. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions regarding the trip.
