Group AGM
Well what a fantastic evening 1st Hinckley Group had last night.
We had around 120 in attendance which included members and their families. A fantastic number for a group AGM.
The evening began with the formalities and we must say that the Youth Members where extremely well behaved. A number of officers were nominated onto the Group Executive Committee and our accounts were signed off for another year.
Once the meeting had finished light refreshments were served in the form of a large hot dog and a drink. This was followed by a family campfire including a number of traditional songs and also some popular pop songs! The fire burned, the rain just about held off and everyone really enjoyed themselves.
The evening ended with the presentation for four Chief Scout’s Gold Awards, by the District Commissioner Mr Alan Charlesworth, and a traditional campfire prayer in memory of our dear scouting colleague and much missed friend Pankaj Tailor, who passed away late last year.
A big thank you to all the Leader who helped set up during the afternoon, special thanks to Tina who sourced, purchased and cooked the food and refreshments. Thanks also to the parents who helped serve and clear away afterwards.
